Machine Masters General Information

Machine Aquatics Masters Program

Machine Aquatics Masters is a fully registered program with United States Masters Swimming.  The program focusses on all levels of masters swimmers from recreational fitness swimmers through to competitive swimmers and triathletes.  In the 2014-15 season, the workouts will be structured to meet the goals of each of the participants.  There will be an emphasis on the masters team having representatives at local, regional and national level meets and open water events.

The Machine Masters program will be led by Andrew Galbraith.  Andrew started his swimming career in the UK representing his club at local, regional and national level events.  His specialty at that time was the 100m butterfly.  Andrew also received numerous coaching certifications in the UK while swimming at club level.  After college, Andrew took a break from swimming.

In 1993 Andrew moved from the UK to Washington DC.  Always up for a challenge Andrew trained for and completed three marathons before turning his attention to triathlon.  While living in Northern CA in 2006, Andrew joined a local Masters team primarily to prepare for open water swims associated with triathlons.  Over the past eight years Andrew has competed in sprint, olympic and half ironman triathlons - most recently completing the Eagleman Triathlon in Cambridge MD.

Recently, Andrew decided to take a break from corporate America where he had served as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer for a UK based real estate company. Today, his focus is Machine M3, a performance training venture focusing on swimmers and triathletes.

Andrew can be reached at and is available to answer all questions, advise about meets and provide a clear and productive training plan to all Machine Masters swimmers.

Short Course 2014-2015

Start Date:  September 2014
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday @ Oakmarr Rec. Center
5:00 am - 6:30 am
(please note:  Machine does not rent the Masters area of the pool until 5 am.  Therefore masters swimmers should not enter the pool until 5 am.  There will be a 10-15 min dry land session prior to practice commencing for those swimmers arriving early)

We will advise on the date we will return to Oakmarr in due course.

Pricing Information
For the 2014-15 season, the Masters pricing structure has changed.  In an effort to keep costs down and to better organize the program, pricing will be based on pre-purchasing a set number of swims.  We have created several tiers for swimmers to follow the maximum number of sessions per week to those who swim only 1-2x per week.  The new system will automatically track the swims you have used and will prompt you when it is time to purchase additional sessions.  (As the first month of the season is outdoors and water temperatures may fluctuate, the time limit on the number of swims purchased will not commence until Oakmarr opens)

2014 - 2015 Pricing
