Chad began his swimming career at the age of four in the Prince-Mont Swim League, swimming for his neighborhood pools — the summer league experience that first sparked his love of the sport. In high school, he joined Machine Aquatics, his first year-round program, while also competing for Archbishop Spalding High School. He went on to swim at the Division I level at Saint Peter’s University, where he competed for three years.
Chad has a particular talent for working with athletes across a wide range of skill levels, having coached swimmers from swim school through Junior Nationals. He is committed to developing each athlete as both a swimmer and a teammate, and he is equally passionate about helping young athletes find genuine enjoyment in the process. Chad is entering his seventh season with Machine Aquatics and currently serves as the head site coach at our Fairland location, where he is the primary coach for the National Prep and High Performance Orange groups.
Chad will be the lead coach for our Senior Elite, High Performance Orange & Silver groups in the morning. In the afternoon, he will work alongside Coach Sandra, Lead Age Group Coach, with our Gears, Mechanics, and Senior programs.

I’m Sandra, a PhD biologist and lifelong swimmer from Bogotá, Colombia. I began swimming at age 6 and went on to represent Colombia in international competitions across South America. As a Masters swimmer since 2004, I’ve competed at the World, Pan-American, and National levels and still hold multiple national Masters records in Colombia. Since 2015, I’ve coached swimmers from children through Masters levels, preparing athletes for high-level competition and providing extensive private instruction for swimmers of all skill levels. I currently compete as a Top Ten U.S. Masters swimmer with the Virginia Masters Swim Team.
