Brian Gemberling - Site Director

Hi! I’m Coach Brian, and I’ve been part of the Machine Aquatics coaching staff for the past three years. If you’ve ever been to a meet, you’ve probably seen me—the big guy in the camo hat calling for timers!
I grew up swimming competitively in MCSL, PVS (RMSC), and later in college at Frostburg State University. Along the way, I earned multiple MCSL records, won a gold medal at Zones representing PVS, and set school records at Frostburg.
My coaching philosophy is simple: technique, technique, and more technique. I believe in making swimming both fun and challenging—because the sport not only builds strong swimmers but also teaches life-long skills and values.
I truly believe Machine is a special program. My daughter swims here too, and I wouldn’t want her anywhere else. The positive environment fosters growth, confidence, and community—helping kids become great swimmers and even better people.
Hannah Walker - Age Group Director
hannah@machineaquatics.com
Hannah Walker's love for swimming began in her early childhood, growing up as a spirited competitor with SNOW Swimming and various summer swim teams (Belmont Sharks, Greenville Gators and Lovettsville Dolphins). The pool was her second home, a place where she found joy, challenge, and a lifelong passion. Hannah continues to swim into her mid-20s for recreation and recovery. For the past nine years, she has shared her love of swimming as an instructor in Virginia, Indiana, and Colorado, bringing her expertise to swimmers of all ages. Her teaching is marked by a genuine connection with her students, fostering both skill and confidence in the water. Now a proud mom to her 15-month-old daughter, who already shows a natural affinity for the water, Hannah finds a balance between life as a young mom and her swimming career. This fall, she is thrilled to join Machine Aquatics as a new head coach at the Ida Lee and Round Hill Aquatic facilities. Hannah's journey from a young competitor to a seasoned coach is more than just a career path; it's a testament to her unwavering dedication and passion for the sport. She looks forward to bringing her personal touch to Machine Aquatics, inspiring and nurturing the next generation of swimmers with the same enthusiasm that has fueled her own lifelong love of the water.
